Intaglio course focused on the wonderful world of Coffee Lift and Powder Sugar Aquatint using the safest intaglio materials and techniques available today. Baldwin Ink Grounds offer traditional results with less toxicity. BIG hard ground offers fantastic benefits over traditional hard ground and it is safer to use. We will learn to use powdered sugar to create lovely tonal plates.
Traditional representational image development as well as abstract experimentation are encouraged in this course. Copper metal plates with traditional plate preparation and ink wiping techniques will be taught. If you have always wanted to try printmaking or have been away from it a while and want to get oriented to using the HP studio this is a perfect place to start.
Class supplies will be available for purchase in the HP studio as needed – copper plates, printmaking papers and etching tools. You have the option to use your own or buy materials from HP. Supply list will be provided on enrollment.
Course includes unlimited studio use during open studio hours during the course duration.
